A Connecticut chemical company is facing a $155,000 fine as a result of claims that it violated the federal Clean Air Act. The EPA says that the company emits excess hazardous air pollutants from resins including formaldehyde and methanol. Respiratory symptoms and eye, nose and throat irritation are resulting in neighboring communities. The company will pay an additional $150,000 to conduct an environmental project to resolve the allegations by the EPA.
